Basslet (Anthias)
The red/orange Basslets are a common sight on the coral reefs. They form large groups, which are often divided into smaller harems dominated by a male. All Basslets are born female. When a dominant male dies, the largest female in the group will change sex to take its place.

Basslets are also known as Anthiases. They feed on plankton and can be up to 12 cm in length
