Damselfish
The Damselfishes is a numerous family of small fish. About 50 species identified in the Maldives. The family consist of Damsels, Humbugs, Pullers, Sergeants and Anemonefishes, which is given a separate page.

Several species are territorial and will try to chase away intruders. One small Humbug even tried to bite my finger, but the mouth is was so small that I only felt a light tickling.
Damselfishes are feeding on algae, crustaceans and plankton. The length ranges from 5 to 15 cm. |
