Paper Scorpionfish (Leaf-fish)
Paper Scorpionfish is also called Leaf-Fish. It is smaller and less venomous fins than it’s bigger sibling, the Scorpionfish.
The hunting technique is similar to that of the Scorpionfish: It sits patiently and wait until a small fish or shrimp gets too close to it’s mouth, which is surprisingly large. It can also sneak slowly towards the prey by “walking” on the fins. |
Paper Scorpionfishes can be 10 cm in length. The color ranges from almost white to yellow, red and dark purple/green. It is not easy to discover, but once spotted, it can it be seen at the same spot for several weeks or months.
