Paper Scorpionfish (Leaf-fish)

Paper Scorpionfish is also called Leaf-Fish. It is smaller and less venomous fins than it’s bigger sibling, the Scorpionfish. 

The hunting technique is similar to that of the Scorpionfish: It sits patiently and wait until a small fish or shrimp gets too close to it’s mouth, which is surprisingly large. It can also sneak slowly towards the prey by “walking” on the fins.

Paper Scorpionfishes can be 10 cm in length. The color ranges from almost white to yellow, red and dark purple/green. It is not easy to discover, but once spotted, it can it be seen at the same spot for several weeks or months.
