Wrasse
This is a large family of reef fishes with size ranging from a few centimeters up to two meters. More than 60 species are known in the Maldives. Wrasses can change sex as they grow, usually starting their life as females and becomes part of a harem. When the male dies, the most dominant female will change sex and become the leader of the group. Wrasses also change color patterns as they grow, making it difficult to identify some of them.
