Needlefish
The Needlefish is feeding on small fish in shallow waters. It has a long beak with sharp teeth and catches the prey with a sideways sweep of the head. They are hunted by larger fish, such as Trevallies and Tuna, which may cause them to leap into the air to escape.

People have been hit by such “flying” Needlefishes, which can inflict deep puncture wounds on the victims.
The Needlefish is also called Longtom or Seagar and can be from 45 to 130 cm in length. |
