Goby
There are more than 80 species of Gobies in Maldives, but because of their small size are they often ignored.
Shrimp-Gobies are living together with shrimps: The shrimp digs the borrow, and the Goby has good eyesight and signals when it is safe for the shrimp to come out. |
Gobies are often seen on sandy bottoms.
Most Gobies feed on small invertebrates. Some of the larger species eat other fish, and a few of them eat algae. They can be from 3 cm to 16 cm in length. |
